Again, NCAA warns private jet owners against commercial flights

NCAA

Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has, again, warned holders of Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF), that is private jet owners, to desist from engaging in commercial flight operations or face stiff penalties.

A statement signed by the Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stated  that  holders of PNCF were not permitted to use their aircraft for commercial operations or cargo services.

Recall that following the Flint Aero Jet crash-landing at the Ibadan airport, the NCAA had issued stern warning to private jet owners to desist from using their aircraft for commercial operations.

The statement further noted that in line with Section 32 (4) of the Civil Aviation Act 2022, the NCAA would not hesitate to initiate enforcement actions against any PNCF holder found guilty of illegal operations with suspension, withdrawal or revocation of their Permit for Non-Commercial flight.

It read: “The public is hereby notified that it is illegal to engage PNCF holders for commercial purposes. The agency said NCAA officials had been deployed to General Aviation Terminals (GAT) and private wings of the airports to monitor activities of the PNCF holders.

The NCAA further restated its zero tolerance for violations of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 and shall continue to enforce strict compliance through the application of appropriate sanctions.
