APC ward Chairman, Dikko and Secretary, Yakubu Sani, stated this in a letter to Buba.

“Dear Comrade Lawal Buba having two-third majority on decision taken by the Party executive on your gross misconduct and utterances to those in position of authority and using wrong medium to disseminate confidential information, you are Herby suspended indefinitely,” Sani said.

Dikko said: “I am writing to inform you that, due to the use of abusive language towards the Governor and Party Leadership, you are here by suspended indefinitely from your position as a member of the Party, APC with immediate effect”.

The ward chairman said Buba passed the uncomplimentary remarks on Governor Sani since the unveiling of the State of finance and debts left behind by El-Rufai in the State.

He said Buba, a strong APC stalwart and associate of the Ex-Governor was said to have embarked on negative campaign against the current governor.

“It has come to our attention that you engaged in behaviour that is not only disrespectful, but also undermined the principles of professionalism and integrity that we uphold within our Party system,” Dikko said.

“Your use of abusive language towards individuals in positions of authority will not be tolerated and is indirect violation of our Party’s code of conduct.”

He said the ‘sins’ of Buba included, “the use of unauthorized communication channels for official correspondence, engaging in inappropriate or unprofessional communication and violating confidentiality protocols by sharing sensitive information through improper channels.”

Other offences against him are, “failing to adhere to party guidelines regarding respectful and courteous communication. Such actions not only reflect poorly on yourself but, also have potential to damage the reputation of our party organisation/ structure and it’s relationships with key stakeholders.”

Dikko explained that “while we understand that emotions may run high in political discourse, it is imperative that all members conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful and in accordance with our value.”

He therefore informed Buba that “during your suspension your are prohibited from accessing the party Premises, resources or engaging in any activities on behalf of the Party.”

Meanwhile, in a telephone interview with the Guardian, the Party Ward Secretary, Yakubu said that “the utterances of Buba was very, very uncomplimentary against the Governor and it was unbecoming of a party leader.

“He was openly in support of the former Governor, El-Rufai in castigating and in insulting our Governor. This is not acceptable and therefore Buba was suspended.”
