Firm to empower youths with business oriented skills
In an effort to reduce the spate of unemployment in the country, SwiftThink Nigeria Limited has concluded plans to unveil its third edition of an empowerment programme profiled, ‘The Edge Series Student Summit’, TESS 2016.
The summit is aimed at enabling Nigerian youth to gain leverage in a highly competitive environment through effective communication for negotiations, sales and marketing.
TESS 2016 is a conscious effort to consolidate small businesses, promote self-reliance and economic empowerment.
Speaking ahead of the summit which is slated for Friday, July 29, Chief Executive Officer, SwiftThink Ltd, Ayoola Jolayemi said, the year’s focus is centred on dimension of sales and market which is tagged, What are you saying’. TESS 2016 is aimed at preparing young Nigerian students for the real world where everyone is selling something.
Jolayemi said: the summit intends to help participants find a voice of their own, sharpen their presentation skills at all levels, teach relationship management and business etiquette rules, while providing valuable head start for new businesses.
“We will not only talk-the-talk but walk-the-talk with a reward and support system, which is tagged, The Edge Business Start-up Challenge.
Essentially, it is meant to empower the businesses of five winners with a start-up kit valued at N3 million each. The selection of the winners is broken into phases beginning with the submission of entries from June 28 to July 5, 2016.
