Artmosphere to hold on Saturday in Ibadan

Ibadan-based Artmosphere is set to host renowned music maestro, performing poet and social critic Segun Akinlolu, also known as Beautiful Nubia on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Artmosphere is curated by WriteHouse Collective since and has consistently incorporated the classic ideals of artistic erudition with the innovations of performance practice and contemporary culture.

The event opens 3pm at NuStreams Conference Centre, KM 110, Iyagunku Road, off Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan. Seun Odukoya opens the stage with readings from his debut fiction, Saving Dapo, after which a series of readings, performances and conversations with Beautiful Nubia will follow.

Beautiful Nubia’s songs are built on rich folkloric traditions and native wisdom but his message is universal in thrust and theme: value life, respect for nature and learning to live in peace with others. His music production and marketing company EniObanke has over the years organised the leading folk and roots music festival in Nigeria, EniObanke Music Festival.

Poet and literary critic, Gabriel Bamgbose will close the July edition of Artmosphere with selected readings from his debut poetry collection Something Happened After the Rain.
