The Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan alongside 12 other players have made their way to the Black Stars’ training camp in Marrakech, Morocco, in preparation for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.

This was made known on Tuesday in a statement released on the X handle of the Black Stars after the team opened camp on Monday and did a workout on Tuesday morning in preparation for the two friendly games.

Apart from the Ayew brothers, the players in the Black Stars’ training camp include Joseph Wollacott, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Tariq Lamptey, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Antoine Semenyo.

Kassim Nuhu, Abdul Samed Salis, Patrick Kpozo, Seidu Alidu, Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew, and Denis Odoi are part of the Ghanian squad.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) also announced on Tuesday afternoon that Medeama FC defender, Nurudeen Abdulai had arrived in Morocco to join the team’s camp after receiving a very late call-up.

Ghana on Monday revealed that the trio of Thomas Partey, Joseph Painstil and Inaki Williams will miss the international friendly matches against Nigeria scheduled for Friday, March 22 and Uganda on March 26.

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo named his 26-man squad for this month’s international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda but Partey, Williams and Painstil were missing.

The Black Stars in a post on its X handle revealed the reasons for the omission of the three players from Ghana’s squad to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Uganda.

As a result of Painstil’s move to the United States (US), there are some further immigration documentation procedures he must embark upon which is why he is unable to travel outside the US until the process is completed.

Arsenal midfielder, Partey on the other hand asked to be excused from the game to gain full fitness following his recent injuries.

Athletic Bilbao forward, Williams was said to have pulled out of the games to have some rest and fully recover from his recent injury setbacks.

The friendly games scheduled for Marrakech, Morocco will mark the beginning of a new era for the Black Stars under Addo who had previously managed the team.

The Super Eagles will go all out to avenge their 2022 World Cup qualification disappointment when they clash with the Black Stars.

Ghana stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the Mundial which took place in Qatar as they edged their fellow West African rival on away goal rule after both countries played out a 1-1 draw on aggregate.
