…Modesty in worship place
Dressing up appropriately to a place of worship can be challenging for a lot of people especially as the fashion style in this sacred sphere demands absolute thoughtfulness for modesty.
All over the world, the best of fashion and creativity of designers come to live in places of worship, especially the church and mosque.
Christians would not hesitate to wear the best of dresses to church particularly on first Sundays of every month. Muslims, although with a different religious calendar ensure to attend Jumat services and a number of other special services in their best outfits.
However, the confusion for many, especially young worshipers is why there should be a dressing disparity between what is acceptable for social events and places of worship. Why can’t they wear that glamorous micro-mini skirt, or the up high slit dress? For men, why can’t they wear those short or sport knickers etc?
This is because a place of worship is a sacred space where you consciously go to seek the face of the Almighty, and so, you must consciously dress up in complete holiness – covering every part of the body that should not be seen in the open in order to be worthy of His presence and worship.
Now this does not imply that you are not going to look elegant in that properly covered styled outfit, as a matter of fact the best of classy styles are designed in modesty, one that confers on you an unparalleled beauty of holiness to behold God’s presence.
