Youths honour Ethiopian Airlines
The youths, under the aegis of Northern Youth Initiative for Peace and Good Governance (NYIPGG), came from Abuja, Kano and Kaduna to present an award to the General Manager of ET, Firiehiwot Mekonnen, at the Lagos office of the airlines recently.
Mekonnen was full of commendation for the Nigerian Youth. She said: “My few years of stay in Nigeria has left me with great admiration of the enterprise and the drive of the Nigerian and having the younger generation of Nigerians honouring us as an airline is a thing of joy.
On behalf of my group CEO and the entire team of Ethiopian Airlines I would like to thank the northern Nigerian youth for this award,” she said.
President of the group, Abubakar Muhammed, said that the award was in recognition of the airlines’ immense contribution “towards nation building, human development, educational development and youth empowerment for the benefit of Nigeria at large.”
It will be recalled that in February ET received the African Leadership award in Lagos and last month in Port Harcourt the Association for Travel Agents honoured ET.
Africa’s leading airline and the only Skytrax Four Star in Africa was given the highest Award by the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents (NANTA) as the most Supportive International Airline Award at its Annual General meeting in Port Harcourt.
The Award was presented by the Chairman Board of Trustees of NANTA, Steve Isokariri, to the General Manager of the airline supported by the managers from Abuja, Kano and Kaduna.
