AS Nigeria basks in the euphoria of its 55 years independence anniversary, the President of Western Nigeria Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nigeria, Pastor (Dr.) Oyeleke Owolabi has described Nigeria’s unity as an independent gift that is worth celebrating.

He noted that the fact that Nigeria has remained together as a nation for 55 years after independence is a great achievement that is highly commendable, stressing that several countries that did not experience as much challenges as Nigeria have been plunged into endless crises.

The cleric, who stated this during the Community Guest Day organised by Babcock University Schools, Ogba, Lagos, recently, added that another remarkable achievement, which Nigeria recorded during its 55 years of existence as a nation is its refusal to accept the gay marriage proposal, which according to him, is not pleasing to God.

The president, who disagreed with the views of some Nigerians that the country has not done well since independence, urged Nigerians to co-operate with those in authority for better Nigeria.
