Ekiti Assembly will ensure implementation of 2024 budget, says lawmaker

Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji

.Says ongoing road projects not misplaced priority

A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Idowu Odebunmi, yesterday, gave the assurance that his colleagues would ensure holistic implementation of the 2024 budget to deliver landmark capital projects for the benefit of the citizens.

Odebunmi, representing Oye Constituency II, who is Chairman of the House Committee on Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, said that the road projects were not misplaced priority.

The lawmaker spoke in Ado-Ekiti after a tour of the two road projects.
According to him, the roads being constructed are strategically designed to transform the economy, create employment and boost the Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.

He commended the diligent pace at which Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki dual carriage way and the return of contractor handling Itapa-Omu-Ijelu road were being prosecuted, saying that the projects will bring an upswing to the local economy when completed.

Odebunmi said that the Ring Road being constructed between Iworoko-Are-Afao-Igbemo to the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport would help in exposing the towns in that axis to better business opportunities, adding that the Ring Road, targeted at decongesting Ado-Ekiti metropolis of traffic snarl, would ease the transportation of agricultural products to the cities for more income earnings for farmers.

The lawmaker lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for keeping to his promise that road infrastructure for the state won’t be initiated based on primordial thinking, but on the strength of how strategic it is to the growth of the economy.
