Eno approves N1 billion bonus for Akwa Ibom workers

Governor Umo Eno on Monday announced the payment of N1billion to Akwa Ibom State Government workers as a bonus to mark the 2024 Public Service Week.

Eno made this known in a statement following a thanksgiving service at the International Worship Centre, Uyo, rounding off the week-long celebration by public servants.

“Expressing my appreciation for the harmonious working relationship and support for the ARISE Agenda, I directed the Accountant-General to ensure the payment of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) each to all 52,000 civil servants in the first week of July,” he wrote on X.

“I also commended the integrity and prudence of the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, and urged all hands to be on deck to make Akwa Ibom self-sufficient in food production.”

Eno urged Akwa Ibom workers to continue to work with the state government towards ensuring a greater efficiency and success in the state’s public service.
