Fape elaborates on breaking of bread, tasks Christian on holy lifestyle

Olusina Fape

The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of Remo Diocese, Church of Nigeria(Anglican Communion), The Most Revd. Olusina Fape has called on the church to realise that participating in the ‘breaking of bread’ is not just a mere routine, but one that reminds every Christian of the vital role Jesus Christ played in salvation of mankind, stressing that it should therefore be approached with all reverence.

Fape said this, while presenting his address at the just-concluded Second Session of the 14th Synod of the Diocese of Remo with theme: “Experiencing Jesus Christ At The Breaking Of Bread And The Implications.” The event took place at Christ Anglican Church, Ogere-Remo.

He reminded Christians of the inevitability of sanctity with which every partaker should approach the Breaking of Bread to avoid the grave consequences of taking it without self examination first, which has resulted to a lot of Christians who were defiant to the warning being sick and some died according to the scriptures.

The Reverend listed some of the benefits of taking the bread to include always having the abiding presence of Jesus, understanding the scriptures, miracles of healing and deliverance, life of holiness because of constant self-reexamination to know if they are still in the faith, and hope of making the rapture when Jesus comes to take His own people home.
