‘Don’t make 2018 hellish like last year for Nigerians’

Buhari

The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Egbu, Owerri North Local Council of Imo State, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Okorafor, may have started in earnest to remind government at the three levels to make 2018 enjoyable to workers and Nigerians at large.

Stating that political leaders made the outgone year ‘hopeless for civil servants and some Nigerians’ due to their inability to pay salaries and pensions promptly, he, however, urged the citizens to have hope in God this new year.

In his goodwill message titled, I know, at the All Saints Cathedral in Egbu yesterday, Okorafor regretted that both the federal and state governments allegedly failed in many areas to “make lives of Nigerians better”, advising that there should be no repeat of the agonising scenario.

He described what civil servants went through as pathetic, regretting that they also suffered blackmail in the hands of constituted authorities who, ordinarily, should protect them.

The cleric therefore submitted that that God would intervene as long as Nigerians sustain their hope in him.
