Female pupils glitter as Corona school graduates 65
Three female pupils, Precious Enahoro, Maryam Nuru and Chikaodili Obetta, claimed the top three positions as curtain fell on the 2015/2016 academic session at Corona Secondary school, (CSS) Agbara, Ogun State.
Apart from jointly picking the Outstanding Learners’ in External Examinations award with Abdul–quadri Abiru, Enahoro emerged best student in biology, chemistry, civic education, design and technology, English language, further mathematics, ICT, marketing and mathematics.
Nuru who bagged 4th position in the Outstanding Learners’ in External Examinations, was the best student in technical drawing while Obetta, 3rd best in the Outstanding Learners’ in External Examinations, was also the best student in catering crafts, economics, geography and physics.
In her address at the event, which 65 students passed out, principal of the school, Mrs. Adedoyin Adesina, said the ceremony signifies the celebration of 65 embodiments of success, who for the past six years have worked to improve themselves, hone their skills and prepare for the greater hurdles they will meet in future.
While charging the graduating students to be worthy ambassadors of the school, she implored them to dream stressing the words of Eleanor Roosevelt that “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
She pledged the resolve of the school to continue to build upon the past successes as the school has refurbished its laboratories, completed construction on the design complex, embarked on the junior boys hostel, deployed new technologies, engage students in life transforming community projects as well as involve them in educational activities within and outside the school.
She stressed the schools commitment to sufficiently invest in teacher training and capacity building, and encouraged the students to continue to work diligently and remain focused, knowing that the future belongs to those who set goals and work towards achieving them.
Guest speaker, Mrs. Ada Osakwe, advised the students to imbibe five unique principles, which has guided her since leaving secondary school.
Osakwe who is the founder and CEO of Agrolay Ventures, charged the students to discover their passion, set goals, believe in themselves, be self disciplined and value friendship and relationships.
