Power Oil’s loss of calories campaign excites consumers

In support of the target of the World Heart Federation to reduce premature cardiovascular disease deaths by 25 per cent in 2025, Power Oil has organised the fourth edition of its annual consumer engagement activity tagged ‘Power Oil Pay with Calories.’ The activities engaged consumers in a series of exercises on treadmills and cyclers, which eventually saw them getting rewarded with amazing gift items depending on the amount of calories they were able to burn within a specified time on the spot.

The event, which was held at Ikeja City Mall, Lagos, created an exciting platform for the brand to cater for its customers’ health in a fun, relaxing and rewarding manner. Various gift items were laid out for consumers to pick from as per calories burnt within a specified time frame.

While commenting on the event, Brand Manager, Power Oil, Amisha Chawla, said the experiential campaign was borne out of the necessity to encourage Nigerians to further become mindful of their heart health by making efforts to maintain good body fitness and possibly eliminate unhealthy consumption habits, as these factors are important to lowering the risk of blood pressure and heart-related ailments.

“The activation is simply to promote healthy living by encouraging Nigerians to pay more attention to their body and be cautious about the quality of what they consume in order to maintain a healthy heart. We try to advice against the consumption of low-quality or sub-standard cooking oil, which, in the long run, puts consumers at risk of heart related diseases and other health hazards,” she said.

Public Relations Manager of the company, Omotayo Azeez, said, “Considering the kind of lifestyle pattern people lead these days and all sorts of responsibilities they are saddled with, you find out that they are left with little or no extra time to dissipate on fitness activities and making a healthy meal choice also becomes a challenge especially because of the festivity in the air.”

She added that the programme would promote a healthy living  while encouraging Nigerians to maintain a healthy body fitness into the new year and beyond. Beneficiaries of the programme commended the organisers.
