Union donates materials worth N7.5m to DELSU
The Isoko Development Union has presented materials worth N7.5m to the Delta State University (DELSU), Oleh Campus as part of efforts to facilitate the accreditation of the law and engineering faculties of the school.
President general of the union, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, presented the materials, which included conference tables, office chairs, refrigerators, law books, wall clocks among others.
At the presentation, Amadhe explained that on May 19th, 2016, he mobilised prominent sons and daughters of Isoko Nation, including HRH. Williams Ovrawa Omogha 1, the Odiologbo of Oleh, Bishop John Aruakpor of Oleh Diocese of Anglican Communion, Chairman Isoko South and North, Sir Ithiako Constantine Ikpokpo, Emmanuel Egbabor, Minority Leader House of Representatives, Leo Ogor, and others to contribute towards the accreditation of the two faculties.
The union chief noted that the presentation was part of the first phase of the union’s donation to facilitate the accreditation process, adding that more materials would be donated in the next two months in support of the drive.
Amadhe who also made a further donation of N500, 000, for the demarcation of the office complex at the engineering faculty, commended the state governor, the school’s vice chancellor, provost of the campus and staff of the institution for their efforts so far along this line.
He called for the recruitment of qualified lecturers and the completion of the landscaping, fencing and construction of the engineering faculty entrance road, which was abandoned during the last administration.
