FEC underway as Tinubu, ministers meet in Aso Villa

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) is currently underway Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with President Bola Tinubu presiding over the session.

The agenda was not made public, but it was gathered that the economy, security, and the prevailing circumstances faced by Nigerians, among others, will form the crux of deliberations.

The ministers last met on the 14th of May, where the Cabinet members, including other top Presidential aides, took far-reaching decisions.

Recall that President Tinubu, on resumption in May 2023, slightly altered the Cabinet meeting from its previous Wednesday arrangement under his predecessor, Mohammadu Buhari.

Explaining the decision, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris informed Nigerians that the Cabinet under President Tinubu may not hold weekly sessions as was the previous tradition.

He said, “until there are pressing issues to discuss.”

At the resumed sitting currently underway, cabinet members were seen engaged in banter among themselves and other forms of networking before they went into a closed door for the commencement of deliberations.
