Fubara urged to redeem N100m bounty on killers of Ahoada DPO

A youth organisation, Igbu-Akoh Youth Congress (IYAC), has called on Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to redeem the N100 million bounty placed on theĀ  infamous Iceland Cult leader, David Gift aka 2Baba.


The prime suspect to the killing of Superintendent of Police (SP) Bako Angbashim, the former Division Police Officer(DPO) of Ahoada Police Division was killed on February 17, at Ebrass forest.

SP Bako Angbashim was killed on September 8, 2023, at Odiemude Community in Ahoada East Local Council of the state.

Recall that Governor Fubara placed a N100 million bounty on the cult kingpin on September 9, 2023 during an emergency State Security Council meeting a day after SP Bako was killed by David Gift and his gang.

The group, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Hector Ekeakita, urged the state Governor to provide adequate succor to the next of kin and immediate family of SP Bako Angbashim in recognition and appreciation of his immense contribution to crime reduction and eradication in the state.

Ekeakita, who expressed worries that o three weeks after the prime suspect was killed, corpse discovered and retrieved by the Police in Ebrass forest, the Governor was yet to redeem the bounty.
