Increase in budgets to Agriculture will stop Japa syndrome – Ex-commissioner


Former Commissioner for Agriculture in Ekiti State, Dr. Olabode Adetoyi has urged both Federal and State Governments to increase budgets to Agriculture in order to stop the rate at which the citizens emigrate to other countries.


The Ex-Commissioner said this on Friday morning in celebration of his 55th birthday.

According to him, national and states budgets to Agriculture is very low at average of 2 to 3% of entire budgets.

He also advised that Government should be intentional to partner private sectors to develop Agriculture in Nigeria through various Agricultural value chains from Farms to fork.

“This is the only way to provide jobs for the youths to reduce the JAPA SYNDROME.” He said.
