Insecurity: Imo CP solicits constant prayers, support from clerics, citizens

… As MDGM team visits, offers special prayers for Command

Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma has solicited continued support and prayers from well-meaning citizens of the state including the clergymen, community leaders and the youths in the task of fighting crimes and criminality in the State.

He stated that, given the prevalent crimes in the state and the enormous effort needed in combating them, the police would continually rely on collaborative support from all and sundry in the state to succeed.

CP Danjuma made the appeal when he received in audience members of Miraculous Deliverance Gospel Mission, Nekede, led the the General Superintendent, Prophet Dom Daniel Anyanwu at the Command’s headquarters in Owerri, weekend.

He reiterated the commitment of the command under his watch to stamp out violent crimes and criminally minded elements in the State, stressing that, “Imo needs peace and stability to thrive.”

According to him, “we, the police are doing our best to ensure that Imo residents sleep with their two eyes closed. We are not relenting a bit in our commitment of ensuring total policing of the state.

“But as you are aware, security is a collective responsibility. Police together with the other sister security agencies can not do it alone. Every one of us has a role to play to guarantee adequate security. And when you look at the rate of crime in the state and the country at large, you will agree with me that the task of fighting them is enormous.

“So I beg you and other well-meaning citizens of the state to always put us in your prayers as well as to support in any way you can. We need your support especially in talking to your members, whom I learnt are majorly youths to stay away from crime and to discourage others from it.

“Just as we continually appeal, our religious and community leaders as well as the other stakeholders in the state including the youths should assist us with relevant information that will help us secure the state better.”

The Imo Police boss also appreciated the MDGM team for their visit and kind disposition towards the command and promised healthy partnership with the church in the overall interest of the state.

Earlier in his speech, Prophet Anyanwu said the visit was to welcome and appreciate the CP for the laudable achievements he has recorded since his arrival in the state as well as to encourage him to never relent.

He pledged that aside constant praying for him and the command, that the church would continue to find ways to support in areas that would assist the police and other security agencies in the state to deliver to expectations.

The renowned Imo cleric said, “we as well as the entire Imo people are seeing your efforts and achievements. We are indeed appreciative of what God is using you to achieve in the state; the battle He is using you to fight for our collective good.

“Please no matter the pressure or whatever, don’t give up or be afraid because God is with you. You can always count on our support and prayers.

“I pray God to continue to afford you the grace, wisdom, good health and strength to do His will here in Imo as far as policing our state is concerned. Remain blessed. Amen.”

The MDGM team who was accompanied on the visit by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Nekede, CSP Osifo Stanley, also offered special prayers for the Imo Police Command.
