Leadership tussle in Benue and senseless killings

Benue State governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia

Sir:When leaders lack the needed knowledge to administer the ideal leadership services to their people but focus on devilish things to do to enable them rule forever, their people will indeed suffer, be poor, die and be buried in shame as we have been witnessing massacre and mass burials of our people almost every time.

The late representative of Middle Belt, the last region created before the creation of states in Nigeria, wanted to rule forever and employed thugs to kill those who were against him. This senseless system introduced became hereditary in the state.

In this our ongoing good for nothing democracy, the Benue leaders are no longer employing only the indigenes to kill for them, they employ herdsmen to also assist them invade and kill people in the state to achieve their plans.

Most of the killings that happened in Benue State were perpetrated by notable politicians and their boys who are still killing people in the state but the killings were accredited to herdsmen, only few were attributed to the politicians, many of whom are late now.

Those who are in the state and have been following the fights over leadership positions by our useless leaders and politicians in general can attest to this. Fulani herdsmen cannot come into the state to attack and kill as they wish if something is not wrong with the leadership in place.

The Federal Government and international communities now donate money and food items to state affected by attacks. The larger part of the donations go to the pockets of these leaders who received the donations before getting to the affected people and areas.

The above is enough for our vampire leaders in the state to cause the attacks and killings of our people so that they can benefit from donations by Federal Government, international communities and so on.

The former governors and many other politicians in the state recruited thugs, armed them, used and abandoned them. The same boys are now terrorising the state but people accuse herdsmen.

The people of Benue State know who are responsible for the attacks and killings of their brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunties and so on. They should go after them to experience peace and be happy again.
