MTWI hosts financial literacy conference, empowers 3,000 women

Founder, MTWI Financial Services, Ifeoluwa Adegoke, in commemorating International Women’s Day, held a financial literacy conference in Abuja where she equipped 3,000 participants with financial empowerment.

The conference, themed “Inspire Inclusion – Invest in Her,” had distinguished speakers, including trailblazers from business, government, and career sectors, share invaluable insights.

The conference aimed to empower women with the knowledge needed to take charge of their financial futures, attain independence, and craft lives they can be proud of. Participants were immersed in practical sessions, learning essential steps to earn, manage, and multiply their finances.


Adegoke, underscored the critical importance of financial independence for women, highlighting its role in liberating individuals from precarious situations and granting them the freedom to make choices.

Dr. Hilda Titiloye, one of the esteemed speakers, emphasised the power of delayed gratification, urging every woman to consider the long-term implications of their financial decisions. She encouraged attendees to ponder the significance of purchases over a 3 to 5-year timeframe, aligning expenditure with their life goals.

She said “Delayed gratification is powerful to help every woman stay committed to the kind of financial future they want. Always ask yourself, what purpose will this purchase serve in 3- 5 years? What is the significance of it to my life”

Seyi Abiodun, another speaker, emphasised the importance of disciplined saving and strategic investment. He stressed the need for women to cultivate a habit of setting aside funds for emergencies and leveraging legitimate opportunities to grow their wealth. Abiodun urged attendees to embrace calculated risks, asserting that investing in viable ventures is essential for financial growth.

Abiodun Said “It is money you have disciplined yourself to put aside that you can leverage in case of emergencies and unexpected opportunities. He further said “Every woman should learn to take calculated risks with their money, it is by investing in legitimate opportunities that you can grow your money”

Other speakers like Mandate Secretary for women affairs and children, FCT, Hon, Adedayo Benjamins Laniyi, gave the keynote speech urging all women to never stop growing and learning skills that will make them trailblazers in their fields of endeavor.

The conference served as a pivotal platform for meaningful dialogue and education, addressing the pressing need for women to attain financial autonomy. Through initiatives like this, MTWI Financial Services continues to champion the advancement and empowerment of women in Nigeria and beyond.
