N’Delta CDCs commend Tinubu, pass vote of confidence on NDDC boss

Ogbuku

Board of Trustees and Management of Community Development Committees (CDCs) of Niger Delta Oil and Gas Producing Areas have commended President Bola Tinubu for retaining Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), passing a vote of confidence on him for his leadership at the Commission.

This was contained in a Communiqué jointly signed by Chairman, Board of Trustees, Joseph Ambakederimo, and Chairman, Communiqué Drafting Committee of CDCs, Augustine Iyamu.

The committees said the vote of confidence on Ogbuku was in appreciation of his unwavering commitment to the journey of evolution and a pathway to unleashing enormous capacity in the years ahead.

The meeting, which held at the weekend, in Warri, Delta State, convened by Ambakederimo, was designed to x-ray development issues pertaining to the Niger Delta region, vis-a-vis the NDDC’s critical role and attendant rescue mission of the region under the leadership of Ogbuku.

While commending the NDDC boss for his innovative leadership and dedication to duty, the group urged Tinubu to re-appoint Ogbuku as a substantive Managing Director of the interventionist commission when the board is reconstituted.

Highlighting other decisions reached at the meeting, the communiqué reads in part: “We, the members of the CDCs of Niger Delta Oil and Gas Producing Areas believe deeply in the 12 fundamental principles of the CDC.”

“We are committed to bringing a new beginning for the people of the region by establishing and defending a democratic system of government built on foundations of social justice.

“Promotion of a peaceful atmosphere for smooth operation of companies, agencies and other investors in the Niger Delta Area.

“Promotion of good relations between traditional rulers and chiefs of the Niger Delta, government and other agencies responsible for the welfare of traditional rulers.”

The CDC identified that the NDDC is the catalyst for the development of the region, and the Commission should henceforth take the lead to show the pathway for sustainable development of the area.
