Two female suicide bombers attacked a mosque during early morning prayer killing at least 22 worshippers.

The attack occurred at Molai-Umarari village, on the outskirt of Maiduguri, Borno State, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Borno State Emergency Management Agency spokesman Abdullahi Omar and army spokesman Sani Usman confirmed the blast.

Sani Usman confirmed that 22 people were killed and over 18 people injured in an emailed statement.

A witnessed stated that the suicide bombers disguised themselves as man when they entered the mosque for early morning prayer.

One of them went in and joined the first row of the congregation and when the worshippers stood up for the prayers she detonated her explosives, killing several worshippers.

The other suicide bomber waited outside the mosque and denoted her bomb as people escaped for their lives.

The survivors of the attack and evidence from the rescue operation identified the bombers as women according to eye
witness.

According to some eye witness the attack is similar to attacks done by Boko haram which have left over 20,000 of people dead and several thousands homeless.

    Very barbaric indeed.

    • But insurgency or is it Boko Haram has been technically defeated. Right?

Innocent people just perished, see the stupid and heartless question somebody(Alphonsus Ochuba) is asking?

        • @@disqus_tVvG76WdKe:disqus I think you need to learn to read between the lines or beyond the face value of a write-up before reacting because if you did, you would understand that my question is a mockery on those who are deceiving us that Boko Haram has been technically defeated; its better up a sarcasm. They said that they have technically defeated Boko Haram yet everyday we still keep hearing of bombings and killings by same group and that write-up is saying ‘if they have technically defeated the group, why all these killings’. It entails that we are on same side of this matter so please read properly before reacting. Enjoy your day please.

May the souls of the innocent worshipers who lost their lives in this mindless killings rest in peace.
Federal government should redouble its efforts in tackling insurgency in the country and those supporting and sponsoring it should have a rethink. Government must do something to fish out these sponsors and those benefiting from the madness otherwise our efforts to curb the menace would be effort in futility

This should have happened where Buhari and Tinubu were worshiping, then I would have been glad.
