Ajimobi, Fayemi, others commiserate with Akande over wife’s death
Prominent Nigerians yesterday commensurate with the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bisi Akande, over the death of his wife, Omowumi who died after a brief illness at the University College Hospital, Ibadan on Tuesday at the age of 73.
They are: The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, the Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
Ajimobi described Omowunmi death as painful and disheartening, while Fayemi, said Mrs. Akande’s demise was sad and devastating.
Also, Akeredolu, described the deceased as a disciplined, God-fearing and understanding woman who stood behind her husband in both private and public services.
Meanwhile, Obasa in his condolence message said the death of Omowunmi came when her wisdom and advice were still needed.
