The South-South Zonal Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that the decision by Senator Nelson Effiong (Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District) to dump the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) for APC is a right decision.

Reacting to the defection, APC said the Senator took a wise decision that would sustain his political carrier, as well as give relevance to the people he represents.

The party’s National Vice Chairman (South-South) Ntufam Hilliard Eta, who said this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Bassey Ita, pointed out that Senator Effiong decision was auspicious and well thought out in current political decision.

“Senator Effiong had felt the wind of change in Akwa Ibom state and since he cannot come against it or stand in its way, it was wise he joined it.”

He added that, with the coming together of the likes of Obong Umana Umana, Chief James John Akpanudoedeghe, Obong Nsima Ekere, Chief Sam Enwang,Madam Rachel Akpabio and Atuekong Don Etiebet among many others, there’s a clear indication that change is going to replace retrogressive governance in the state.

They now bluff you in Nigeria with occasional defection; last week or so one defected from South-West to APC AGAINST THE PROVISION OF THE CONSTITUTION AND THE ELECTORATES; WHAT IN THE CIVILIZED DEMOCRACIES WILL ATTRACT BYE-ELECTIONS THEY DO IT WITH IMPUNITY IN NIGERIA regardless! And you know what, they are talking about corruption tells much about the psychology of the people including the leadership hence my use of the phrase – Nigeria in a QUANDARY afflicting those with PhD also! We wait to see what Mr. Nnamani’s Team will do about this ineptitude in the system practiced in Nigeria – how much the Team is itself informed politically to know reason for bye-election provisions in Constitutions including America’s Nigeria copied!
