THE Region 20 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) recently showcased a wide range of talents at the celebration of the church’s First Regional Redeemer’s Day at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Lagos.

The event, which was the grand finale of the three-day programme featured the march past of schools, calisthenic displays, invitation relays, inter-school relays, soccer match finals and other sporting activities. On the whole, 13 schools participated in the events where Redeemer’s International School, Apapa Road emerged the best overall winners. It received the highest number of medals at the event. The theme of the programme was God: Strength for All Times.

Region 20, led by Pastor Idowu Iluyomade and his wife, Siju, is made of 10 provinces. The provincial pastors and their wives were on hand to cheer the children as they competed in the sporting activities.

The celebration was attended by several dignitaries including Dr.Oluranti Adebule, Deputy Governor of Lagos State as the special guest of honour represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Michael Ola Dawodu; members of the RCCG City of David; The Arise Foundation dignitaries, among others.

Medical services were provided by The Arise Mobile Clinic team for over 400 people at the event. The Arise Foundation is a women’s ministry, an initiative of Pastor (Mrs.) Siju Iluyomade, wife of the RCCG Pastor in Charge of Region 20.
