Firm enlightens students on career choices

Telecommunication firm, Etisalat Nigeria, in partnership with Leadership Empowerment and Resource Network, (L.E.A.R.N), a not-for-profit organization, held a one-day career counseling session for junior and senior secondary school students in Epe, Lagos state.

Speaking at the event, Director, Regulatory and CSR, Etisalat Nigeria, Ikenna Ikeme explained that the career counselling platform enables them to give back to the society, appreciate volunteering time and employ their skills in providing career counselling and mentorship to students.

According to Ikeme, over seven thousand students have benefited from the initiative, which was designed to appropriately guide students of secondary schools in the junior and senior levels, towards making sound, positive, and fulfilling career decisions, which will provide long-term benefits to them, their families and ultimately the nation.

Commending the firm for its laudable initiative, Senior Project Officer, Leadership Empowerment and Resource Network (L.E.A.R.N), Tonne Saheed said they were glad to partner with Etisalat on this nation building mission, adding that the benefits of the initiative will start to manifest in the nearest future and will in no small measure contribute to national development. In all, eight schools benefitted from the session, including Epe Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Odo Obara Junior and Senior Schools, Alaro Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, and Odomola Junior and Senior Schools, all situated in Epe town.
