After years of constant conflicts, the Itsekiri and Ijaw people of Warri South West Local Council of Delta State have resolved to live in peace and strengthen the bond of love and unity.

This came as they resolved to develop their area.

Representatives of the two warring ethnic groups who spoke yesterday at a rally in Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of the council to flag off campaigns for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the forthcoming council polls, agreed to remain in the party to further advance their political relevance in the state.

Welcoming Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the state leadership of PDP to the council, Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro, said the people were happy over the quality of leadership being provided by the PDP in the state and have vowed never to be distracted by the antics of a few individuals.

He spoke in company of representative of Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Daniel Renieyeju and representative Warri South West in the Delta State House of Assembly, Daniel Mayuku, among others

Okowa, who presented the PDP flag to the party chairmanship candidate for the election, Taiye Tuoyo, commended the people for their support for PDP, saying that the party would continue to attract development to all parts of the state.
