The Lagos State Government has concluded plan to establish a body, Neighborhood Safety Agency, to monitor the activities of vigilance groups in the state.

This followed the passing into law yesterday a bill in that respect by the state House of Assembly to oversee operations of all para-security outfits in the state.

The bill has since been sent to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his assent.

The piece of legislation is aimed at improving security in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

The sponsor and House Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, said the new law was part of proactive measures to stem crimes in the state.
