Manufacturers, others throng international building, construction exhibition in Lagos

The international construction, building materials and technology exhibition (BuildExpo) 2017, which started on Thursday, November 2, at the Landmark Events Centre in Lagos, continues today.

The exhibition brings exhibitors from over 22 nations with local manufacturers in Nigeria to showcase their brands and products.

Visiting BuildExpo 2017 are builders, contractors, engineers technicians, students, distributors and market associations. Some of the distributors are meeting their products manufacturers for the first time. Technicians were introduced to new technologies in the market.

The BuildExpo workshop section is still ongoing for the visitors to acquire more knowledge on professional building and construction in other developed countries.

OreOluwa Fadyomi, an engineer, who spoke on ‘Sustainable structural design for civil infrastructure: Exploring Alternate Materials,’ said Nigeria has what it takes to build sustainable buildings and has other alternatives, in terms of natural resources.

Another engineer, Kori Shettima, from Borno State Ministry of Works and Transport, speaking on ‘Post-conflict reconstruction and planning: Challenges and opportunities,’ said she has been in the midst of it all and she was there to talk on what they have done and has worked for them after the inconsistency in the state.
