MITROS policy is working, Amosun insists

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has said that the Mission to Rebuild Policy (MITROS) of his administration was working.

He said this was as a result of some reforms being implemented to make land documentation better in the state.
   
The governor stated this during the distribution of Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) and building plans approval to another batch of beneficiaries at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta.

A statement by the press officer of the Bureau of Lands and Survey, Passover Adeshina, the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Olumide Ayeni, said one of the reforms would make settlement of land disputes easier.

He said with the new Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution law to be assented to soon, another reform on Mortgages and Force Closure Law, was undergoing review and would be the first of its kind in the state.
   
Speaking, Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Olalekan Lukan, said the distribution of C of Os was to add value to beneficiaries’ property, provide security and access to credit for investment and guarantee land rights.
   
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Tunde Adejumola of Redemption Estate, Akute commended the state government for making impossibility possible for the people.
