Police begins manhunt for 18 Malaysian boys over attack on Nimbo/Adani communities

The Enugu Police Command yesterday declared manhunt on eighteen persons masquerading as “Malaysian boys” for allegedly attacking Nimbo/Adani communities in Uzo-Uwani council of the state.

It was gathered that the group said to be operating from the dreaded Malaysian forest in Uzo-uwani had within the week launched attacks on residents of Nimbo and Adani communities, destroying property and causing injuries on the natives and fled.

It was not the first time the group carried out such attack as on several occasions they had engaged in the kidnapping of residents for ransom.

Police had few months ago raided the said forest, rescuing several kidnapped persons, making arrests as well as recovering dangerous weapons being used in operations of the group.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement, disclosed the names of the suspected hoodlums in the recent attacks as Ikechukwu, aka Master; Okoro Ifeanyi aka Bukar; Mathew, Marcel Ojike; Ogbobe Ajulu; Odumodu aka Asogwa; Mike aka Anyi Anyi; Hyacinth Ugwu Julius; John Okwelli; Anselem aka Photo; Ikechukwu Aaron; Nnamdi Michael; Gabrial aka Gabos as well as Fela, Zero,Akwasa,Mmiri and Ratty.

Amaraizu stated that the command would stop at nothing in ensuring that those listed were arrested, adding that it would resist efforts by members of the group to make parts of the state unsafe for the residents.
