‘Set aside verdicts of alleged corrupt judges’
Adaji, speaking yesterday in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital to journalists, also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his efforts to restore sanity to the system.
Adaji said the recent arrest of some judges and discovery of huge amount of money in their custody as claimed by DSS, allegedly collected as bribe to influence verdicts on the elections cases they presided over, proved that the rulings were influenced by the monetary incentives and not a true reflection of the laws of the land.
He also urged the AGF to set up an independent body of incorruptible judges to review the cases decided by those arrested, as failure to do so would set a terrible precedence.
He also said that those who allegedly gave the bribes should equally be prosecuted. He added beneficiaries of these judgments should also be made to vacate their respective offices pending the decision of the panel, in the interest of justice and fairness as their continuous occupation of the offices amounts to legalisation of illegality.”
