Njoku Macdonald Obinna named director, media strategy to Eze Ndigbo Ghana

Port Harcourt-based Public Relations Practitioner and Media Consultant, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, has been appointed as the Director, Media Strategy and Communications by the diasporan traditional ruler of the Igbo community in the Republic of Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Ezeohazurume of Ghana, Global Peace Ambassador).


A statement signed by the traditional ruler, read: “It is with great honour and pleasure that I officially announce the appointment of Mr. Njoku Macdonald Obinna, an outstanding Nigerian born media consultant, public relations expert, and international news reporter as the Director on Media Strategy and Communications to the revered Igbo throne in the Republic of Ghana under the traditional stool and leadership of HRM Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, having proven himself worthy in character, in excellence, and in the media mastery of the activities of the Obiukwu, Obieziokwu, Obi Igbo Royal palace in Ghana.

His job description and media engagements included projecting the Igbo culture and tradition to the world through news updates and activities of The Eze, while arranging, coordinating, and monitoring his national television interviews and podcasts. Creating a wide range of publicity before, during, and aftermath of the widely annual celebrated Igbo New Yam festival that attracts thousands of both national and international guests and visitors to Ghana.”

Before his appointment, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, with over 10 years experience in media consultancy, news reportage in Nigeria’s leading national newspapers, brand management, and public relations, is the publisher of a leading online media outfit, 4th Estate Reporters, and a fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administration of Nigeria (IPMAN), among other professional organisations. He has attended many seminars and conferences both in Nigeria and outside the country.

Obinna is Nigeria’s eye-witness reporter who covered the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Igbo new yam festival. He also led a powerful delegation at the instance of Ezeigbo Ghana to pay a royal visit to the United Nations Peace Ambassador, HRM King Ateke Michael Tom (Seukro of Niger Delta, Amanayabo of Okochiri Ancient Kingdom).

He was also among the Nigerian delegates to the 2023 JPI International Conference in the Republic of Rwanda.
He is expected to bring his vast media experience to bear in information dissemination and projection of the activities of HRM Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Ezeigbo Ghana) to the world through various media outlets.

Following the appointment, the media consultant and PR expert, Macdonald, has received several accolades from friends, well-wishers, and colleagues in the media industry who wish him success in his new office.
