Nollywood , and indeed, the entire movie industry was thrown into deep mourning following the demise of notable Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, who is popular as Junior Pope in a boat accident at waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba, on Thursday. The actor and four of his colleagues were returning from a movie location when a boat accident left all five of them under Anam River in Anambra State.
Although there were conflicting reports in the late hours of Wednesday over Junior Pope’s health condition following the tragic incident, a statement by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) later confirmed that the actor and father of three had indeed passed on while the bodies of the other three people in the boat with Junior Pope who were all identified as crew members are still missing.
Meanwhile the AGN has suspended all production activities involving the movie, titled, Another Side of Life, which the actors were working on while the search for the other bodies continues. This sad occurrence is coming barely 48 hours after the Nigerian movie industry lost Saratu Gidado, who is popular as Daso.
