Obi, Soludo, Ubah, others for Senator Obi’s book launch today

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and a former governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, will today unite once again in Awka, the state capital at a book launch to honour former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Senator Ben Ndi Obi.

They will gather at the ASUU Secretariat hall of the NnamdiAzikiwe University, Awka, with the three senators, representing Anambra State in the Senate, Senators Ifeanyi Ubah, Tony Nwoye and Victor Umeh and others, as special guests of honour at the public presentation of “The Voice of a Prophet”, a compendium of vintage speeches of Senator Obi.

The book was put together by Senator Obi’s former Senior Legislative Adviser, Dr Sebastian Anekwe, a senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science of NnamdiAzikiwe University, Awka, while chairman of the occasion will be Chief Clem Nwankwu.

While the chief presenter/launcher is Chief Clem Nwogbo, other co-chief launchers/presenters will include Chief ObioraOkonkwo, DikeoraIdemili, who is also the Executive Chairman of United Nigeria Air; and AmbassadorOzoEmeka Jude Agumadu, a well-known business executive.


With a foreword by Prof Ken Nwuba, a Professor of Public and Private Law/International Terrorism and Armed Hostilities, the book is segmented into nine chapters covering deeply contemporary Nigerian politics.

These include, the prevailing insecurities, infamous third term agenda, and what Senator Obi described as “political exclusion game”, tributes to great Nigerian leaders and the menace of herdsmen amongst other educating and exciting topics.

Senator Obi, in a statement, said the 321-page book is “a compilation of various speeches, interviews and opinions on key national issues, including various activities organised by his office as the Special Adviser to Nigeria’s President that culminated to the signing of the Abuja Peace Accord, leading to the formation of the National Peace Committee under the chairmanship of former Head of State, Gen AbdulsalamAbubakar, (rtd).”

The book presentation is expected to draw distinguished citizens, academic, top politicians, scholars, researchers, diplomats, teachers and historians, among others.
