Ondo PDP suspends chairman, Fatai Adams, over alleged anti-party activities

PDP

.It’ll not stand, I remain the chairman, says Adams

The State Working Committee (SWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State chapter, yesterday, suspended the state’s chairman of the party, Fatai Adams.

Adams was suspended over alleged anti-party activities as well as the purported infiltration of the party by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The suspension letter was approved and signed by nine SWC members, including the State Deputy Chairman, Tola Alabere; Secretary, OluseyeOlujimi and Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, among others.

According to the SWC members, the alleged action of Adams against the party is capable of bringing disrepute to the PDP in the state, adding that the suspension was in tandem with the constitution of the party.

The suspended chairman was also given one week to appear before the disciplinary committee of the party to answer questions about the allegations.

Meanwhile, Adams has said that his purported suspension will not stand, emphasising that it was politically motivated.

According to him, the suspension was done as part of their alleged agenda for the Akoko North East/North East Federal Constituency by-election scheduled for next month.

Adams, while stating that he remains the chairman of the party in the state, said that the party would not be taken over by unscrupulous elements that are trying to destroy the democratic values that the party is known for.
