Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 33-year-old man, Adegun
Aboderin, with a locally fabricated semi-automatic pistol in the Abule-Ado area of the state.

Aboderin was arrested at about 6:00 a.m., yesterday, during a stop-and-search operation.

Spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said investigation was ongoing to track others accomplices.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has concluded plans to launch a dedicated call centre.

The agency said the initiative is designed to enhance communication between the public and traffic authorities, streamline traffic operations, and significantly improve the overall driving experience in Nigeria’s bustling commercial capital.

In response to the city’s traffic nightmares, spokesperson of the agency, Adebayo Taofiq, said the centre aims to provide real-time, efficient solutions to traffic management, reflecting the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for public service enhancement.

He said: “The LASTMA call centre will be a state-of-the-art facility, operational 24/7, staffed by trained professionals adept at handling a wide range of traffic-related issues.

“Motorists can contact the call centre via toll-free dedicated hotlines to report traffic incidents, request assistance, or seek information on road conditions, including reports on activities of LASTMA officers.”
