Sani receives certificate of return, promises improved wellbeing

Kaduna State Governor-elect, Sen. Uba Sani, yesterday, received Certificate of Return from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the duly elected in the March 18 governorship election.

The Governor-elect, the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and members-elect of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, were presented with their certificates of return at the INEC headquarters in Kaduna.

INEC National Commissioner, Malam Mohammed Haruna supported by the Admin Secretary and acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Malam Auwal Mashi presented the certificates to the winners.

Speaking in a brief but well attended reception held at the Murtala Square Indoor Sports Hall Kaduna, after receiving his certificate of return, the Governor-elect promised to take advice from various leaders of thoughts in the state, noting that he is aware of the challenges facing the state and citizens.


Balarabe, who said he would resolve the problems, stated that, he and his deputy would listen to the pieces of advice from religious, traditional and other opinion leaders in the state, noting that he would make the wellbeing of residents of Kaduna paramount and his administration would do everything possible to ensure that the citizens of the state have their welfare adequately taken care of. 

He said, “I give all thanks to Allah for giving me this opportunity. I want to give special recognition to Alhaji Bashir Abubakar, we contested the APC gubernatorial primary together, but when I won he congratulated me, saying that power belongs to Allah and He gives it to whomever He wants. 

“Me and my deputy Governor-elect, we would work with everybody. We would listen to advice from religious leaders, traditional leaders and opinion leaders. We know the challenges in the state, we know the challenges facing the people but God’s willing, we would ensure that everybody in Kaduna, men, women, youth and civil servants, we will cater for their wellbeing. 

“I want to thank those who voted for us and those who did not, those who supported us and those who did not. I want to assure you that we would work together,” the Governor-elect said.
