International basketball stars

basketball-shutterstock-5-3Top basketball players that will participate in the inaugural African Basketball League for their various clubs have arrived Nigeria for the ABL league, which dunks off on Saturday at the Landmark event Centre Lagos.

Four cities in West Africa, including Lagos, Abidjan, Dakar and Libreville will play host to 120 games in the first season of the competition. Lagos Islanders, Lagos Warriors and Stallions are the Nigerian teams participating in the basketball fiesta.

Other Africa clubs that will feature in the league are Dakar Rapids from Senegal, Abidjan Ramblers from Cote d’Ivoire and Izobe Basketball Club from Libreville.

The first game will see the Stallions playing at home against Dakar Rapids of Senegal on opening day. It will commence by 6.30pm at Landmark Event Centre.

Some key players to watch during the season are Mark Hill, Kelechi Anuna, Melvin Baker and Akintunde Moses, amongst others.
