Isaac Success may be ready for Super Eagles’ friendlies
Super Eagles’ striker, Isaac Success, who has not played for the country under the current national team manager, Gernot Rohr, may feature in the friendly matches lined up for the team ahead of the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 African Nations Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles will play some high profile friendly games before the qualifiers, which Rohr wants to use to assess those that have not played for him so far.
Watford striker, Success was initially feared to miss the games, but reports from his club indicate that he would be fit before the games. He is expected to resume full training with the first-team on January 30 ahead of Watford’s trip to the Emirates Stadium, where they face Arsenal.
Success has been on the sidelines for the past six weeks due to a hamstring complaint, but there is good news from the Hornets medical team regarding his fitness.
“The next two days are crucial. We are doing specific work on Success, both in the physio room and on the pitch and in the gym to avoid the risk of another injury, ” medical director, Luca Gatteschi told the official webpage.
“He’s working well. The last two days he’s had a good training load and been running without any problem. “We have to test more in the next two days with very specific workloads and change of direction. We are very close to the end.” This season, Success has eight Premier League appearances to his name and scored against Bournemouth in October.
