Former African and Commonwealth boxing champion, Joe Lasisi, former African boxing champion, Jeremiah Okorodudu and current Commonwealth and African champion, Isaac Ekpo, were full of excitement yesterday when the founder of ACE’s Solid Sports, Babatunde Adeleke Adegbuyi unfolded his plans towards promotion of boxing in the country.

The London-based Adegbuyi said at the National Stadium in Lagos yesterday that his outfit had good plans to take Nigeria’s boxing to a higher level, adding that ACE’s Solid Sports would give Nigerian pugilists a level playing field to make good living from boxing.

“We will give Nigerian boxing the best platform to take their career to a greater height, and we are already negotiating with various organisations for the promotion of fights in Nigeria a few months from now,” Adegbuyi said.

The ACE’s Solid Sports boss revealed that he would bring some foreign boxers from London and other parts of the world to Lagos for fights with their Nigerian counterparts.

“I participated in football and other sporting events in my youth days, but injury cut short my ambition. I was crazy about boxing 30 years ago, and I still remember the fight between Joe Lasisi and Jeremiah Okorodudu.
