As we conclude on the Divine Protection series, it is my sincere prayer that God’s protection will be evident over every area of your life. Lets begin by examining (Mathew 4:5-11).

“Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, if thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou slash thy foot against a stone.

Jesus said unto him, it is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve…”

In all things, we should seek balance. Scriptures should not be taken out of context. The fact that God made provisions for divine protection does not present an excuse for us to take things for granted. The scripture above explains how the devil told Jesus to deliberately break natural laws, because of God’s promise of divine protection. Let’s look at how Jesus responded, “Thou shall not tempt the Lord your God!

Certain things we do can be termed as actually tempting the Lord. We must not carelessly or deliberately break natural laws and expect God’s promises to come through. This is not wise; wisdom says we should watch and pray. I believe many pray, but few watch. Open your eyes and don’t live carelessly. For example, over speeding is dangerous. Don’t over speed, while driving – your car is not a spirit.

Make adequate provision for security measures. Be conscious of your environment and don’t walk carelessly. It’s not wisdom to deliberately stay out late at night and expect everything to go ‘well’.

It is also important to talk about eating habits. What you are eating may be killing you. We will need to seek information from relevant books or even consult professionals (i.e. dieticians) to learn how to eat right, so we can prolong our lives.
Some people have died prematurely, by indulging in some acts that amounted to self-destruction. We must take heed unto ourselves. Experiencing long life demands that we cooperate with God, and be willing to joyfully do our part and see God fulfil His promise of satisfaction. Long life is your heritage!

Afterwords
As we wrap up the Divine Protection series, I believe we have gained some insight in secrets that will enhance our walk in divine protection. I am compelled to share an underlying principle that is crucial to laying hold on total divine protection – this is being led by God always. ‘As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God’. We have to develop ourselves enough to be led by God because, if we ignore this, the other rules will not work.

It is the Spirit that giveth life. This week, as you go about your daily business, be led by God and enjoy total protection. God is faithful!
See you next week, when we would begin a new series!
