Tinubu mourns demise of Kabiru Yusuf

President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, condoled with the family of Mr Kabir Yusuf, who passed away on Tuesday. Yusuf, a veteran journalist, was the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Correspondent for The Triumph Newspaper and Radio France Internationale Hausa. He covered the State House for many years until his passing.
 
A statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said the Nigerian leader prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and comfort to his family in this time of grief and always.
 
The late reporter died in Kano 48 hours after he returned from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he successfully covered the 2024 hajj exercise. 
 
A close associate and former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna State chapter, Garba Mohammed, broke the news on the National Media Team platform, yesterday.

Yusuf was one of the few journalists selected by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to serve on National Media Team for this year’s pilgrimage in the Asian nation. 
 
Earlier, Editor in Chief, RFI Hausa service, Bashir Idris, had officially announced the death on his social media platform.  He announced: “With complete submission to the Will of Allah, I regret to announce the death of our colleague and one of the pillars of RFI Hausa, Kabir Yusuf, our Abuja correspondent, who few days ago returned from pilgrimage in Makkah.
 
“Kabir passed away in Kano last night, and will be buried today (yesterday). May Allah in His infinite mercies grant this gentleman Aljannah Firdaus.” 

Coordinator of Independent Hajj reporters, Ibrahim Mohammad, also described the late Yusuf as a quiet and humble gentleman, who believed in humanity. NAHCON spokesperson, Hajiya Fatima Usara, equally eulogised the departed, describing him as a good and peaceful fellow.
