Tom Holland Opens Up About His Sobriety Journey

In a recent interview, Tom Holland opened up about his journey to sobriety. The 27-year-old actor revealed that he was once “obsessed” with alcohol and that he decided to give it up after realizing that he had a problem.

Holland said that he began drinking heavily after he got his big break in the Spider-Man franchise. “I was drinking to numb my feelings,” he said. “I was drinking to fit in. And I was drinking to escape.”

Holland’s drinking began to spiral out of control, and he found himself drinking alone and in secret. “I was waking up in the morning and feeling ashamed,” he said. “I was hungover and I was tired. And I just knew that I had to make a change.”

In January 2023, Holland decided to give up alcohol for one month. He called it “Dry January,” and he said that it was one of the hardest things he’s ever done. “I was really struggling,” he said. “I felt like I couldn’t be social. I felt like I couldn’t go out to dinner. I was really, really struggling.”

But Holland made it through Dry January, and he decided to extend his sobriety for another two months. By the time he reached his birthday in June, he was feeling better than ever. “I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” he said. “I could sleep better. I could handle problems better. I was just a much happier person.”

Holland said that he is now committed to staying sober, and he is grateful for the support of his family and friends. He also hopes that his story will inspire others who are struggling with alcohol addiction.

“If you’re struggling, please know that you’re not alone,” he said. “There is help available. And you can get better.”
