South African sensation Tyla has released her much-anticipated self-titled debut album. The album, which dropped on Friday March 22, through FAX and Epic Records, is a collection of 14 tracks.

The album features Tyla’s hit single “Water,” which not only soared to No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 but also earned her a Grammy award for Best African Music Performance.

Her fans were also treated to a fresh remix of “Water” by Travis Scott, accompanied by a brand-new music video.

Collaborations in her debut album include South African DJ/producer Kelvin Momo in “Intro,” Tems in “No. 1.” Gunna and Skillibeng in “Jump,” and “On My Body” featuring Becky G.

Previously released tracks like “Truth or Dare,” “On and On,” and “Butterflies,” which were initially part of a Tyla EP at the end of 2023, found a new home in this album, alongside her 2022 single “To Last.”

However, amidst the excitement of the album’s release, Tyla faced a personal challenge. The 22-year-old artist had been preparing for a global tour to promote her debut, with the first headlining show scheduled for March 21.

Unfortunately, due to a “worsening injury,” Tyla had to postpone her tour dates and cancel her anticipated Coachella performance.

In an Instagram letter to her fans, Tyla expressed her heartbreak over the decision, emphasizing the need to take care of her health and stated that medical professionals had advised that continuing with the tour could jeopardize her well-being.

Tyla also put out a music video for the track “Art,” accompanied with lyric videos for the other songs.
