BRACED Commission plans economic diversification retreat for South-South States
BRACED Commission has concluded plans to hold a two-day retreat, aimed at fostering synergy among the key state commissioners and officials responsible for economic matters in the South-South States of Nigeria.
The commission said in a statement signed by its Lead Economist, For Director General, Chuks Ofule that the event titled, “Diversifying The Braced States Economy Through Sub National Economic Cooperation And Integration”, would ensure that senior state functionaries and policy makers in the states have full appreciation of the political, economic and social necessity for regional economic cooperation and integration.
Ofule said the event scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on June 16 and 17 this year, would provide the executives with good knowledge and understanding of the essence, processes and benefits of sub national economic cooperation and how regional cooperation could drive accelerated development in the region.
Among the expected keynote speakers at the event are Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, Director-General of the Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, Pat Utomi, of the Centre for leadership and Value, Director- General, West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management, Akpan Ekpo.
