Why we constantly build COWLSO’s capacity, by Ambode’s wife
Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Bolanle Ambode, has said that members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) are constantly engaged in capacity building to update their knowledge and expose them to novel ideas.
She said this at a one-day training programme organised for COWLSO members at the Retirement Villa in Ajah area of Lagos.Mrs. Ambode said COWLSO members were being trained to continually improve themselves for domestic, social and professional purposes.
She said constant training was expected to acquaint the officials with current trends and update their knowledge in all relevant and vital areas.“Training and retraining is a major component of modern day corporate and public service to leverage performance. It is also necessary for individual benefits at home and other engagements outside the home.
“We believe that self-improvement trainings will bring out optimal performance for those in paid employment. It will also help to bring out the best in us in various personal businesses and our social interactions,” she said.
Topics at the training include: Public Speaking, Etiquette, Protocol and Security. On the topics, Mrs. Ambode said they were apt and relevant to everyday living, adding that public speaking was essential for everyone in businesses, social relations and politics.
She added that the mastery of protocol as members of the elite was necessary for proper education to avoid needless embarrassment at public functions where strict adherence to protocol was required.
Adesua Onyenokwe delivered on Public Speaking, Mavi Isiboh and Janet Adetu trained the participants on etiquette and protocol respectively, while Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi handled security.
