Nkoli Nwa Nsukka plans big for Easter carnival

Nollywood actress Rachael Okonkwo, popularly Known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, is set to give back to society regardless of COVID-19 restrictions at her three days Easter Carnival slated for Friday, April 2 to 4, this year, in Enugu.

The Enugu State-born actress explained that her aim is to reach out to the less advantaged persons and widows in society.

“We get caught up in the need to fend for ourselves so much that sometimes we forget to pause to remember those around us who are less privileged. The three-day Easter carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka is totally a nonprofit event that is inspired by my love for education and the desire to put a smile on people’s faces.”


She added; “the aim is to give back to the society, make the kids understand the importance of education, and most importantly, empower the widows and make them understand they are not alone.”

The event, which holds in Enugu town, will attract Patience Ozokwor, Eucharia Anunobi, Ngozi Ezeonu, Chiege Alisigwe, Nkiru Silvanus, Ebele Okaro, Kcee, Ken Erics, Fredrick Leonard, Zubby Michael, and other great talented celebrities.

The Enugu State government and Dano milk support the event. The actress cum philanthropist expressed the effect of her new strategy to give back to the society, saying: “It wasn’t an easy task for me to come up with an idea on how to give back to the society without gathering such crowd that usually attend this carnival prior to the pandemic. I had to think outside the box and came up with the idea of reaching them at home instead of bringing them together.

“Over six thousand kids and families attend this event but because of COVID-19 I can’t risk their lives hence the plan to reach the kids at home, the youths in the market, and finally host only widows on Easter Sunday.”
