Verdant zeal hosts fifth innovention
As investors and manufacturers look for alternative ways to boost productivity in a slowed down economy, Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications is offering new ideas at its 5th edition of Innovention.
The 2016 Innovention, which will hold on March 22, is tagged: “The next big thing.” It aims to start the conversation on identifying and leveraging the untapped potentials of Nigeria despite the high risk, yet with unprecedented returns.
According to the Group Director, Content, Synergy and Innovation, Dipo Adesida, Africa’s creative community is on the rise, using every outlet to spread its uniquely crafted essence. Said he: “The group has a vision to develop home grown content. We are induced to focus on and identify Africa’s untapped potentials. As a continent and a nation, we have huge prospects and opportunities. From films to food to fashion and everything in between, Verdant Zeal holds that Africa has the chance to export its organic uniqueness to the rest of the world that’s near saturation.”
The programme will also address the undiscovered individuality of Africa, the stereotype in some parts of the world that Africa is one country.
“Africa is 54 independent nations, each resplendent with its natural, human and economic resources with the capacity to attract a heterogeneous crowd with each visit. Just as Italy differs from Spain, despite the spatial proximity, each African territory must be clearly differentiated and marketed thus.
“While Africa may have been the last continent to embrace technology, it is definitely leap frogging in terms of usage and adaptability. And although the teeming population has enveloped the giant strides that many tech start-ups are making, with the democratisation of Internet connectivity premised on super fast fibre optic technology, Verdant Zeal believes it is only a matter of time before business in Africa will be at the speed of light.”
Kyari Bukar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc. will chair the occasion, while speakers at the conference include; Professor Pius Adesanmi, Director, Institute of African Studies, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, Kelechi Nwosu, President, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) and Managing Director, TBWA Concept Limited, Audu Maikori, Chairman, Chocolate City and Joel Chikmhanda, founder of JC Capital.
